Annual Autism Educational Conference

July 29 & 30, 2022

Join us for the Annual Autism Educational Conference. We are thrilled to be partnering with experts across the state from organizations like Cherokee Health Systems, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Special Needs Law Center, Tennessee Respite, and others to bring you the most current and helpful information about autism.

September Sweet, MSSW

September Sweet is a social worker, community activist, and public health advocate from Knoxville, TN.

She has worked in human services and social science research for a combined ten years, ranging from animal welfare to end-user experience to disability rights. Her areas of interest are capacity development, the nature of joy, radical empathy, community care, and burnout prevention.

She combines the knowledge of a clinician, a certified peer recovery specialist, and lived experience to translate, refine, and amplify narratives of resilience and resistance from traditionally marginalized groups.

Her efforts focus primarily on mental illness, the LGBTQ+ community, and adverse colonial or cultural events. September enjoys challenging the perception of what individuals on the spectrum are, could do, and can be through her own journey with autism.
