To further support those individuals and families affected by autism, Autism Society of East Tennessee has developed, in conjunction with our wonderful volunteers, Friendship Clubs. There are currently three Friendship Clubs meeting regularly throughout the region. The activities that are scheduled are designed for children with autism and focus on building social skills with structured play and group activities. In thinking about the families of these children, the siblings are provided an opportunity to meet with the other siblings for some fun and socializing also. Parents get a change to meet and network with other parents, allowing for the exchanging of ideas.
Past activities have included: bowling, cooking, free play & games, hikes, water parks, movies, picnics, train rides, baseball games, magic shows and much, much more!
Currently the three clubs meeting regularly are:
Friendship Club Knoxville: This group is based in Knox County & meets monthly. For specific information on events, email: asaetcfriendshipclub@gmail.com
